I purchased another game by Simply Media, which was far inferior. It allows significant customization of the games, and it includes a number of interesting scenarios for "training." It is also fast. I recommend this product. I like On Hand's game b/c it provides a lot of variety with limit & no limit games, cash & tournament.
This game is texas hold'em poker but it's not well suited for computer play on vista machines. The graphics are good but the game requires that you surrender control of your computer while playing disabling windows.Spend a few more dollars for a more usefull version.
After all this practice, next time I'll win. The hands are dealt over and over again for me and I get a chance to bet or not (using Poker for Dummies).without losing any money. Lots of fun for $4.95.
No clues pop up telling you how much is in the pot; what your odds are of making a flush, straight or other hand; what your percentage is of winning that hand. This game has raised my skill level immeasurably. I have a couple other Texas Hold 'Em games but this one is the best simply because it reveals only what you'd see if you were playing a live game at a casino. YOU have to figure it out.
Fortunately you have no option to see while in action.otherwise you'd be tempted to cheat, so thats just as well; it would probably ruin the game for me being so larcenous anyway. Also there are plenty of selections {dozens} of play you can make to keep this interesting. Card shuffling and chip sounds are present and NO LAME PLAYERS FACES, just name placements for the other players at the table. I like that this is not complicated like other "hold em" games out there. I like the ambiance and controls of the selections of table color and card color and whether you use an overhead view of the table or the 3/4 view that exposes more poker room furniture. ALL IN. In tournament play {selection} you start with 10 players and as play continues players are eliminated, just like in real play, and you have the neat little option to see your opponents hole cards at end of hand.
They just try to teach to much and I just want to play for an hour with out being feed a bunch of info. The fisrt thing I noticed and liked about this poker game was the graphics. The play is quite fast or you can slow it down. Percentage chart is present with "all in" hands.
